| Utility election season is here! After a winter filled with reports of dwindling gas supplies and a lack of transparency in our utility, we need to elect leaders who will champion clean energy and value member input. Your vote in this year’s election can make a difference!
Chugach is the largest electric utility cooperative in Alaska, serving thousands of members in our community. This year, three board members will be elected, and we have the opportunity to win almost half the board in one year! Board members are making decisions on our power sources that impact generations of Alaskans. As a member-owner of Chugach, you have the power to shape the future of our cooperative and help create a safe and reliable clean energy future for all Alaskans.
That’s why I’m writing to you today to ask you to vote for our endorsed candidates: Susanne Fleek-Green, Shaina Kilcoyne, and Jim Nordlund. These candidates are community leaders and clean energy champions committed to strengthening and diversifying our electrical grid, promoting renewable energy generation, ensuring transparency in decision-making, and valuing member input in CEA’s operations.
Members can vote online from April 19 to May 19, or in person at the Chugach Electric Annual Meeting on May 19. (Reminder: if you pay a Chugach bill with your name on it, YOU are a Member!) Your vote matters and can make a real difference in shaping the direction of our cooperative. Voting in the Chugach election will also enter you for a raffle for a chance to win one free year of electricity! |
